Los determinantes de la confianza en el presidente en Colombia (2014-2018): una mirada desde la teoría del desempeño institucional

Investigaciones previas han resaltado que los cambios en los niveles de confianza política están relacionados con el desempeño de los gobiernos. El esfuerzo por explicar esta tesis ha llevado a recuperar la teoría del desempeño. El enfoque sostiene que las instituciones que se desempeñan bien, reciben confianza; aquellas que funcionan mal generan desconfianza. Este estudio usa datos de la encuesta lapop en tres periodos específicos (2014, 2016 y 2018) para examinar cómo el desempeño (económico y gubernamental) determina la confianza en el presidente de Colombia. Los hallazgos sugieren que el desempeño explica las fluctuaciones de la confianza en el Ejecutivo.
