Call for Papers: Special Issue “Populism, Foreign Policy, and the Liberal International Order”

06-10-2025

Foro Internacional, an indexed academic journal published for 65 years by El Colegio de México, invites submissions for the special issue: “Populism, Foreign Policy, and the Liberal International Order.”

This issue will address the international repercussions of populism, including changes in the foreign policies of populist governments (trade, security, migration, the environment, etc.) and in the global agenda (multilateralism vs. multipolarity, conflict resolution, and related themes), with a particular focus on the Americas and Europe.

Manuscripts must follow the Guidelines for Authors available on the journal’s website (maximum length: 10,000 words) and will be subject to double-blind peer review, in accordance with the journal's editorial policy. Submissions should be made through the journal's online manuscript management system, indicating in the comments to the editor that the paper is proposed for the special issue.

The issue will be coordinated by Dr. Gilberto Aranda (University of Chile) and Dr. Susanne Gratius (Autonomous University of Madrid), who will conduct an initial selection of articles based on quality and relevance to the terms of this call.

The deadline for submissions is December 15, 2025.
